Invisible Traces: A Sonic Performance Mapping the Intangible Connections Between Finnekumla’s People and Place is a site-specific sound and video art installation that invites visitors on a journey through time and space inspired of the Swedish location Finnekumla.
Using the language of sound and programming, it seeks to reveal the hidden stories and forgotten nuances that lie within the old church archives from the 17th to the 19th century and uncovers new sighs of Finnekumla’s ancestral heritage. Through the use of abstract and evocative soundscapes, the installation creates a tapestry of sonic textures that transport the listener to a realm, where the past and present converge.
It invites the audience to immerse themselves in the cultural and historical significance of the village, experiencing its heritage in a new and profound artistic way. Ultimately, Invisible Traces is a poetic exploration of the human experience, of our connections to place and to one another, and of the stories that continue to shape our lives today.
